Institutional analytics for a private university
The institution made decisions on enrollment, retention, and program expansion without reliable data. Existing reports took weeks to produce.
We built a centralized data architecture and executive dashboards that update in real time for the key academic and financial indicators.
Initial X-ray of the data area, centralized architecture design, Power BI dashboards organized by audience, and training for the leadership team on reading indicators.
The university kept its data in silos: the academic system, the finance platform, and the enrollment tools did not talk to each other. Every time an executive needed a consolidated report, someone on the IT team spent days cross-referencing Excel files by hand.
We started with an audit of the available data sources and their quality. From there, we designed a data warehouse that integrated the three main systems, with automated transformations that left the data analysis-ready without manual intervention.
The executive dashboards were built in Power BI and organized by audience: the rector's office has a strategic view, deans track the performance of their programs, and the finance area manages collection indicators and revenue projections. The leadership team adopted the dashboards in the first enrollment cycle and never went back to Excel.
